Called the “Bard of the Bayou\,” this NewOrleans culture bearer has performed on five continents and has received numerousawards for her thirty-two books and thirteen recordings. Her latest releases are thepicture book My Parrain is the Loup Garou (Pelican Publishing)\, the picture bookNew England Animals A to Z (Arcadia Children’s Books)\, the album “My Little SnapBean\, Zydeco for Children with Nathan Williams & The Zydeco Cha Chas (WiggleWorm Records)\, and a biography for grown-ups co-written with Scott Billingtontitled Irma Thomas\, Soul Queen of New Orleans (slated for a fall 2026 release byUniversity Press of Mississippi).
